KEN HOOD - ADDED 10TH APRIL 2024

New Bradwell Cricket Club were deeply saddened to receive the news over the weekend that our former President, Chairman and Club Captain Ken Hood has sadly passed away. The club would like to send our sincerest condolences to Ken’s 2 daughters and their families at this very sad time.

Ken made his debut for the club in 1952 and played until his retirement in 1987. During that time he amassed an amazing 2321 wickets for the club at an average of 7.38 His best season being in 1962 where he took 145 wickets with best figures of 7 for 3.

Ken could also bat, he scored 13555 runs for the club scoring 38 half centuries and one century.

Ken was involved with the club for many years after his retirement, with his last post being that of Club President. Despite his poor health in later years he still liked to come down to watch some games, which was always lovely to see.

We thank Ken for his years of service and dedication to the club, he truly was if not the greatest, one of the greatest players to ever represent our club, and we thank you so much for your commitment to being part of the New Bradwell Cricket Family over the last 72 years.

May you rest in peace
